Winner on nnomads GC handicap

‘Cinders sizzles Santa’s Decanter’

Well, the final nnomads Golf Club major event for 2021, the Santa Decanter, was run at Yarra Bend in glorious conditions. And as expected, there was a good turnout with 8 double vaccinated competitors stepping onto the tee to contest the event.

While the standard of golf was variable, Cinders (107,36,71) was in sizzling form, winning by 2 strokes from 2nd placegetter The Bloke (90,17,73), with The Cardinal (100,24,76) a further two strokes behind.

This meant Cinders took the major Bladder points (see - year to date Bladder), while the Cardinal remained in the top spot on the club championship leader board with only days to go before the end of 2021 (see YTD 2021 championship results).

The committee congratulates Cinders on a sensational win and indeed all winners on the day. The committee reminds members to book early for the first major event of 2022, the ‘AMOK to be run on Australia Day in late January. (See full SD 2021 event report)

Swan Island nnomads Cup (SINC), November 2021

Winner on nnomads GC handicap

‘Cardinal hits home run’

So, the fifth nnomads Golf Club major event for 2021 was run at Queenscliff Golf Club on Swan Island, down on the Bellarine Peninsular, in pretty windy conditions. Again, there was a good turnout with 10 double vaccinated competitors stepping onto the tee to contest the SINC for 2021.

While some pretty good golf was played, The Cardinal (95,26,69) was a standout, winning easily by 12 strokes from 2nd placegetter The Bloke (100,19,81), with Pup (101,19,82) a further stroke behind. And The Cardinal really entertained the gallery with an excellent eagle on the 2nd hole par five, and an fantastic NTP on the 9th just to mention a couple of more obvious performances.

This meant The Cardinal took the major Bladder points (see - year to date Bladder), and he displaced The Bloke to move into the top spot on the club championship leader board with only one event to go (see YTD 2021 championship results).

‘ANZAC Day Medal (ADM), April 2021

Pup

Winner on nnomads GC handicap

‘Lest we forget Pup’s performance’

Well, the fourth nnomads Golf Club major event for 2021 was run at the Growling frog out at Yan Yean, in pretty pleasant conditions. Again, there was a good turnout with 10 competitors entering the annual competition for the sought-after ANZAC Day medal.

This time it was Pup (90,19,71) who showed up the field, winning easily by 8 strokes from 2nd placegetter The Bloke (96,17,79), with equal third placegetters Curtis (95,15,81) and Freddie Five Iron (116,36,80) a further stroke behind.

This meant Pup took the major Bladder points (see - year to date Bladder), but he was not able to displace The Bloke who remains at the top of the club championship leader board (see YTD 2021 championship results).

The committee congratulates Pup on emphatic win and indeed all winners on the day. The committee reminds members to book early for the fifth major event of 2021, the ‘Victorian Open Master Invitational Tournament (VOMIT), to be run on the Queen’s Birthday weekend, in June. ‘Blessed are the Big Nose’ Cup (BBNC), April 2021

The Bloke

Winner on nnomads GC handicap

‘Bloke nails it to the cross’

The third nnomads Golf Club major event for 2021 was again run at the Bat on another Yarrambat kind of Good Friday. As usual, was a good turnout under the circumstances with 10 competitors walking onto the first tee.

While the competition was tough on the day, The Bloke absolutely nailed it (88, 17,71) shooting one under the card, and five strokes better than 2nd placegetter Billy Bob Thornton (98,23,75), with 3rd placegetter Pup (94,18,76) a further stroke behind.

This meant The Bloke took the major Bladder points (see - year to date Bladder), and was able to displace The Cardinal who was previously at the top of the club championship leader board (see YTD 2021 championship results).

‘Triggered Major 1 (TM1), March 2021

Nurse Min

Winner on nnomads GC handicap

‘Major winner no minnow’

So, the second nnomads Golf Club major event for 2021 was again run in rainy conditions albeit warmish, sufferable and with a full field of 12 competitors on hand.

To his credit, Nurse Min showed he is a true champion (97,28,69), by beating the next best competitor The Cardinal (96,24,72) by three strokes, with 3rd placegetter Freddie Five Iron (112,36,76) a further 4 strokes behind. Of note was the fact that this was Nurse Min’s third Triggered Major win in a row, which cemented his place in the annals of nnomads golf club history.

This meant Nurse Min took the major Bladder points (see - year to date Bladder), but he was not able to displace The Cardinal who remains at the top of the club championship leader board (see YTD 2021 championship results).

‘Australian Open Masters Kup (AMOK), January 2021

The Cardinal

Winner on nnomads GC handicap

‘Cardinal really runs AMOK’

Well, the first nnomads Golf Club major event for 2021 was run in dismal raining and cool conditions making competition golf a challenge for all.

Within that context, The Cardinal fared better than most (104,26,78), beating the next best competitor TJ (103,22,81) by three strokes, with 3rd placegetter Markus Octavious (118,36,82) a further stroke behind. Of note was the fact that all players were not at their best illustrated by not a single player getting a score below 101 strokes, obviously reflecting the arduous conditions.

This meant The Cardinal took the major Bladder points (see - year to date Bladder), and started 2021 at the top of the club championship leader board (see YTD 2021 championship results).
