Standardised Event Report: ‘Lest we forget Pup’s Performance’ |
|
April 25th 2019 - Lest we forget: So, this year’s running of the ANZAC Day medal was
once again at the sensational Growling Frog golf course where the conditions
were near perfect and the course in tip-top condition. |
|
Ten club
members turned out to remember, representing a solid cross section of the
cream of the nnomads Golf Club membership base,
creating only what could be described as a [insert
preferred adjective] field. Preferred adjective alternatives – 1) Impressive, 2) Top class, 3)
Sensational, 4) Magnificent or 5) Awe-inspiring: First onto the
tee in Group 1 were The Bloke, Curtis, Freddie
Five iron, and Rubber Man, closely followed by Group 2 including Pup, The Hanging Judge and TJ, and the final group with Stavros
the Greek, Nurse Min, and Markus Octavious. With such a highly
skilled field like this, it was clearly going to be a [insert preferred adjective] competition
(see 2021 Player Groups). |
|
Tough battle in the
trenches: And that is exactly how it
turned out with a truly a [Rotate from list of preferred
adjectives] display of how to play competition golf.
Perfect examples included The Bloke’s
[Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] NTP on the 5th, and his [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] NTP on the 16th. Then there was The Hanging Judge’s [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] NTP on the 8th and Pup’s [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] longest drives on the 8th and 15th holes.
It is fair to say that the adoring gallery got their money’s worth that day
(see coverage of On Course at the ADM in 2021). |
|
Lest we forget Pup’s
performance: But at
the end of the day, the standout player was Pup (90,19,71), who ended up one stroke under the card, and eight
strokes clear of the next closest player The
Bloke (96,17,79) with Curtis (95,15,80
and Freddie Five Iron (116,36,80) a further stroke behind in equal 3rd
place. Remembered at the
presentations: This meant the presentations
were a celebration of Pup’s [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] performance during which last two year’s champion The Bloke presented Pup with
the ADM pin and ADM trophy in front of an adoring gallery and player group. “I just want to thank TJ and the Hanging
Judge…. ” started out Pup in his elongated acceptance speech (see 2021 ADM champion’s
winners speech). |
|
The Club
committee congratulates Pup on his
[Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] win and indeed all other winners on the day. The committee
also reminds members that the next major event in 2021 is the Victorian Open
Masters Invitational Tournament to be run on long weekend in June (unless a
triggered major occurs beforehand). So,
book early and see you there. |
