The nnomads Golf Club championship
was as always, based on an average of the best four scores from the nine nnomads Golf Club major events in 2016. Pup ended up with an average net score
of 70.75
strokes across
his four best events which was 0.25
strokes in front of 2nd place getter The Bloke. Pup had a great year,
winning two major events, coming second in one event and third in two others.
Pup also ended up 2nd on
the ‘Bladder’ table with 20.0 points from a possible 133 points allocated in
2016. Standout performance: Of note was the fact
that Pup had a truly standout
performance in one major event being the Melbourne
Cup Cup, in which he shot 84 off the stick
(84,23,61) to end up 9 strokes under the card at Yarra Bend. Handicap came down: Another illustration of
Pup’s worthiness as this year champion was the reduction in handicap he
achieved in 2016. Pup started the
year with a nnomads handicap of 23 strokes and
finished the year with a handicap of 19 strokes, a truly outstanding
performance. Down to the line: The fascinating thing
about the 2016 championship was the way it played out. The Bloke was leading for most of the year until Pup’s exceptional performance in the
Melbourne Cup Cup after which he took the lead by
over a stroke. The Bloke then won
the 2nd Triggered Major
reducing Pup’s lead to 0.25 The nnomdas Golf Club committee
congratulates Pup on a
well-deserved win in 2016. The result shows that you don’t have to win every
major golf event to be club champion. You just need perform well in four
major events and be a really nice guy. |
