‘No shanks for The Bloke at the Schank’

So, the next not so weekly competition for 2025 was the following day at RACV Cape Schenck where Stavros the Greek and The Bloke had a sensational day.

Now that might be an exaggeration for Stavros the Greek (score withheld by request) but was perfectly accurate for The Bloke (32 Stableford points). The Bloke also took out a sensational NTP to again sweep the prize pool two days in a row.

This meant points on The Bloke took the Bladder points (see YTD 2025 Bladder), while player handicaps were adjusted accordingly (see latest nnomads Golf Club handicaps).

The committee congratulates The Bloke on another brilliant win and indeed all winners on the day. The committee also reminds members of Lee Trevino who famously said, “The older I get, the better I used to be.

‘Bloke dominates at Flinders’

So, the second not so weekly competition for 2025 was in April down on the peninsular at the fabulous Flinders Golf Club. Once again, there were four competitors including Thombei the Mist, Nurse Min, Stavros the Greek and The Bloke.

In fact, this event was billed as a ‘play-off’ after 3 of the four players at RACV Club Healesville (see below) came in equal on net 75 strokes. But nothing like that happened that day. In fact The Bloke (81,16,65), absolutely dominated, coming in four strokes under the card and seven strokes in front of the next best players being Thombei the Mist (95,23,72) and Nurse Min (102, 30, 72).

To top it off, The Bloke also took out the nearest the pin, giving him a clean sweep of the prizes available on the day.

This meant The Bloke took out the Bladder points (see YTD 2025 Bladder), and player handicaps were adjusted accordingly (see latest nnomads Golf Club handicaps).

The committee congratulates The Bloke on an impressive win and indeed all winners on the day. The committee also reminds members of Chi Chi Rodriguez who famously said, Golf is the most fun you can have without taking your clothes off.”

‘Boys Tied Up at Healesville’’

So, the first not so weekly competition for 2025 was in March, or at least no games were reported to the club until then which is not unusual based on not so recent history. On this auspicious occasion, there were four competitors including Thombei the Mist, Nurse Min, Stavros the Greek and The Bloke.

The venue was the RACV Club in Healesville which at which the fairways were in average condition (a bit dried out), and the greens were dynamite as usual. Hence, it was a festival of the ‘club’ and all had a great day.

Of interest was the fact that Stavros the Greek (96,21,75), The Bloke (90,15,75) and Thombei the Mist (97,22,75), all ended up on Nett 75 strokes, and within a context of not being able to have a play off, it meant three players ended up equal 1st place on the day. Stavros the Greek had a controversial NTP win on the 10th hole, but we’re are not going there.

This meant points on the YTD Bladder were spread around (see YTD 2025 Bladder), and player handicaps were adjusted accordingly (see latest nnomads Golf Club handicaps).

The committee congratulates Stavros, Misty and The Bloke on a great win and indeed all winners on the day. The committee reminds members of Arnold Palmer who famously said, “The road to success is always under construction.”
