August 17th
and 18th 2025: So, the third running of the Tanawha Invitational Tournament Sunshine
Coast (The TITs) was another runaway success, building on the outstanding
success of the previous two years. Again, it was a team Ambrose event run
over two days, and again both days were at the beautiful Headland Golf Club
located in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast. This year there were eight players
in two teams competing for the much sort after TITs trophy. |
||
|
The first of those
teams with a handicap of 11.38 strokes was Mild’s Marauders containing
Mild Colonial Boy, AirCon Two, Bobby Boy and The
Bloke. The second team with a handicap of 11.38 strokes was North and
South containing AirCon One, Tee Vee,
Gorgi and Stavros the Greek. It is fair to say once again it was an
eclectic mix of personalities and skills ensuring this year’s event would be
one to remember (see TIT 2025 Player Groups). |

A hard-fought Day 1: So, the competition between teams on day 1 was fierce from the
very first tee ending with only two strokes separating them at the end of the
session. It was Team North and South (74,11.38, 62.62,) that had the
slight advantage over Mild’s Marauders (76,11.38,64.62) which resulted
in predictable polite sledging during post-game drinks in the clubhouse. Day 2 Tussle: The final
round on Day 2 was close all day as the teams battled it out for the coveted
2025 TITs trophy. And at the end of a solid tussle, both teams came in with
the same gross score of 73 strokes and the same net score of 61.62 strokes
illustrating there was nothing between the teams on that day. North & South abreast of it all: But of course, this was a two-round competition in which the
final scores were based on results from both days. And based on the combined
results it was Team North and South (Nett 124.25 strokes) who won the
day, edging out Mild’s Marauders (Nett 126.25 strokes), by two strokes
(see detailed results below). |

Celebrations and
presentations: So, the presentations in the
Clubhouse were a celebration of Team North and South’s sensational
performance with much cheering from the gallery as event sponsor Mild
Colonial Boy presented the TITs trophy to Team North and South for
2025. “Congratulations to Team North and South who were clearly the better
team on the day. They set the standard we all aspire to now and into the future
of this fantastic event. I hope to see you all here next year at the 2026
event.” presented Mild as he handed the trophy to the winning
team. (see Photos 2025 presentations). |
