Standardised Event Report: ‘The Bloke has a SHiT’ |

March 12th
2024: So,
it was a perfect day for the not so annual running of the Shanksy
Invitational Tournament (SHiT) held for the 1st
time at Gardiners Run, in the outer east of Melbourne. And as you might or
might not know, the SHIiT is only run when event
sponsor Don Johnson returns to
Australia from his home in the USA. The last time The Don was in
Australia was in 2015 which meant the SHiT had not
been run for eight years. Of note was the fact that The Don did not
tell us he was coming. Hence the event was hurriedly put together with one
day’s notice. |

As you would
expect, a solid cross section from the cream of the nnomads
Golf Club membership base turned out, creating only what could be described
as a [insert preferred headline]. Preferred headline alternatives – 1) Impressive field, 2) Top class
field, 3) Sensational field, 4) Magnificent field and 5) Awe-inspiring Field: First onto the
tee in Group 1 were Nurse Min, Thombei the Mist,
and Don Johnson, closely followed by Stavros the Greek, The Bloke, and Markus Octavious in Group 2.
With such a highly skilled and competitive field like this, it was clearly
going to be a [insert first word from preferred headline]
competition (see 2024 Player Groups). |

Pure quality on course: And that is exactly how it turned out with a truly a [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] a display of how to play competition golf. Perfect examples
of such expertise included Stavros the
Greek’s [Rotate from list of preferred
headlines] NTPs on the 7th hole, Don Johnson’s [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] NTP on the 3rd hole, The
Bloke’s [Rotate from list of preferred
headlines] NTP on the 16th, Thombei The Mist’s [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] Longest Drive on the 8th hole and Stavros the Greeks [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] Longest Drive on the 12th. It is fair to say that
the adoring gallery got their money’s worth that day (see On Course in 2024). |

Bloke has a SHIT: But at the end of the day there was one player who stood out
from the rest and that was The Bloke (83,12,71)
who ended up 1 stroke under the card, and 5 strokes in front of 2nd
place getter Thombei The Mist (96,20,76)
with Nurse Min (105,27,78) a couple
of strokes back in 3rd place (see detailed results below). Huge presentations: This meant
the presentations back Stavros the Greek’s place were
a [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] celebration of The
Bloke’s [Rotate from list of preferred
headlines] performance (see Photos of 2025
presentations). “I just thought it was a wonderful game of golf…” started out
The Bloke as he accepted the trophy from Don Johnson (see 2024 winners
speech) . |

The Club
committee congratulates The Bloke on
his [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] win and indeed all other winners on the day. The Committee
looks forward to the next visit from The Don, and the next running of
the SHiT whenever that will be. The committee also
reminds members to book early for the next major nnomads
Golf Club event for 2024 – The Victorian Open Masters Invitational Tournament
(VOMIT) on the long weekend in June.
