Standardised Event Report: ‘TJ Runs AMOK Again’ |

January 26th 2024: Once
again, the first major nnomads Golf Club event for
the year was the Australian Masters Open Kup
(AMOK), run at the Growling Frog, in less than perfect, windy conditions. |
|
|
Being the
first major event for the year, a solid cross section of nnomads
Golf Club membership turned out, creating only what could be described as a [insert preferred adjective] field. Preferred adjective alternatives – 1) Impressive, 2) Top class, 3)
Sensational, 4) Magnificent or 5) Awe-inspiring: First onto the
tee in Group 1 were The Bloke, TJ, and Billy Bob Thornton, closely followed by Group 2 with Freddie
Five Iron, Circuit Board and Markus Octavious, and finally, Group
3 with Stavros the Greek, The Hanging Judge and Slugger. With such
a highly skilled field, it was clearly going to be a [insert preferred adjective] competition
(see 2024 Player Groups). |

Competition golf
exhibition on course: And that is exactly how
it turned out with a truly [Insert preferred adjective] display of how to play competition golf on show. Perfect
examples included TJ’s two [Insert preferred adjective] Longest
Drives on the 8th, and the 15th, The Hanging Judge’s
[Insert preferred adjective] NTP on the 2nd,
and Circuit Board’s [Insert preferred
adjective] NTP on the 16th. It is fair to
say that the adoring gallery once again got their money’s worth that day (see
On Course in 2024). |

Records were broken: So, it must be said that this year’s
field did not do very well. In fact, no player broke the 100 strokes
mark, which is truly amazing, and has not happened since way back in December
of 2023. Hence, records were broken in 2024 which was a little different. TJ runs AMOK Again: What was not different was the fact that TJ
(100, 22, 78) won the event again, so that is two years in a row. And again,
TJ won it easily, this year by three strokes from equal 2nd
placegetters Billy Bob Thornton (108,27,81) and Circuit
Board (117,36,81) place, with the rest of the field lagging (see detailed results below). Sensational
presentations: This meant the presentations
in the carpark were a [Insert preferred adjective] again a celebration of TJ’s
[Insert preferred adjective] performance
on the day, (See Photos of 2024 presentations). “Thanks for everyone coming. I can’t believe I have won it ..”
started out TJ in his winner’s
speech (see AMOK 2024 Winners Speech). |

The Club
committee congratulates TJ on his [Insert preferred adjective] win and
indeed all other winners on the day. The committee notes that TJ is again off to a solid start in
the 2024 club championship, meaning the challenge is on for the rest of the nnomads GC members to get out there and give him some
real competition at the next major event - The ‘Blessed are the Big Nose’ Cup
to be run in March. So, book early and
see you there. |
