Standardised Event Report: ‘Curtis Decants with Style’
December 30^th 2022: So, the final nnomads Golf Club major event for 2022, the Santa Decanter, was played at Yarra Bend in conditions that once again could only be described as glorious.
Being the final event for the year, a solid cross section of the nnomads Golf Club membership base turned out, creating only what could be described as a [insert preferred adjective] field. Preferred adjective alternatives – 1) Impressive field, 2) Top class field, 3) Sensational field, 4) Magnificent field and 5) Awe-inspiring: First onto the tee in Group 1 were Curtis, The Bloke and the Hanging Judge, closely followed by Pup, Cinders and Freddie Five Iron in the second group, with Nurse Min, Thombei the Mist, Markus Octavious and Stavros the Greek in the final group. Quality on course: And that is exactly how it turned out with a truly a [insert preferred adjective] a display of how to play competition golf. Perfect examples included Nurse Min’s [insert preferred adjective] NTP on the 7^th and his [insert preferred adjective] longest drive on the 15^th, not to mention Stavros the Greek’s [Insert preferred adjective] NTP on the 17^th, and his [insert preferred adjective] longest drive on the 6^th. Then there was Markus Octavious’s [Insert preferred adjective] NTP on the 13^th, Curtis’s [Insert preferred adjective] NTP on the 5^th, and Thombei the Mist’s [insert preferred adjective] NTP on the 1^st. Curtis decants with style: But there was one player who stood out from the rest and that was Curtis (84, 14,70) who ended up even with the card, and one stroke in front of equal 2^nd place getters Thombei the Mist (91.20.71), and Stavros the Greek (92,21,71) on nnomads golf club handicap (see detailed results below). Sensational presentations: This meant the presentations back in the carpark were a [insert preferred adjective] celebration of Curtis’s [insert preferred adjective] performance (see Photos of 2022 presentations). “Thank you linesmen, thank you ball boys ” started out and finished the newly crowned champion as the on-course media clambered for an interview (see 2022 SD winner’s Speech). The Club committee congratulates Curtis on his [insert preferred adjective] win and indeed all other winners on the day. The committee also announces that the 2022 club champion is The Bloke who led the table for most of the 2022 year. This also means that members need to prepare for the 1^st major event in 2022, the Australian Masters Open Kup (AMOK), to be run at the Growling Frog on Australia day in late January, at which the new champion will be formally presented with his trophy.
