Standardised Event Report: ‘Bloke prevails as Sphincters squeeze it out’
June 8^th and 9^th 2019: So, it was a weekend of frivolity on the Bellarine Peninsular for the annual running of the Victorian Open Masters Invitational Tournament (VOMIT), featuring the nnomads Gonads Team Cup. This year the tournament was split into two events, with an Ambrose event for the team’s cup on the Saturday, played at Queenscliff Golf Club (Swan Island), and a stroke play event, on the Sunday, played at Curlewis Golf Club.
And the weather was kind on both days, setting up the perfect environment for a solid cross section of the cream of the nnomads Golf Club membership base, to complete in what could be only described as a [insert preferred adjective], not-to-be-missed event. Preferred adjective alternatives – 1) Impressive, 2) Top class, 3) Sensational, 4) Magnificent and 5) Awe-inspiring: In the Team Ambrose event on the Saturday, the first Team onto the tee were Sphincters comprised of The Cardinal, Rubber Man and TJ, closely followed by The Foreskins made up of The Bloke, King Billy and Nurse Min with The Scrotums consisting of Pup, Freddie Five Iron and Stavros the Greek completing the field. In the individual event on the Sunday, the first group onto the tee included Billy Bob Thornton, Freddie Five Iron and event sponsor The Cardinal, followed by TJ, Pup and The Bloke in group 2, with Rubber Man, King Billy and Stavros the Greek in the final group. Inspiration on course: And that is exactly how it turned out with a truly [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] display of how to play competition golf. Perfect examples included TJ’s [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] Longest drive on the 18^th at Queenscliff and NTP on the 9th hole at Curlewis, Billy Bob’s [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] NTP on the 17^th and longest Drive on the 8^th at Queenscliff, and finally Pup’s [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] Longest drives on the 5^th at Queenscliff and 14^th at Curlewis. The Bloke Prevails: At the end of it all, there were two players who stood out from the rest in the individual competition, and they were The Bloke (94,17,77) and TJ (102,25,77) who ended up one stroke in front of 3^rd place getter Billy Bob Thornton (104,26,78). This of course led to a play-off back at Chateau-de-Pup, or at least a chip off, in which The Bloke just edged out TJ in a sudden-death shoot out, under a rising moon (see detailed individual results below). Sphincters squeeze it out: And on the Saturday there was also one Team that stood out from the rest and that was The Sphincters (Net score 65 strokes), who ended up two strokes in front of 2^nd team place getter The Foreskins (Net score 67 strokes) to be convincing winners for 2019. Sensational presentations: This meant there were two sets of presentations back Chateau-de-Pup where the [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] team performance from the The Sphincters was celebrated on the Saturday night, and The Bloke’s [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] individual performance was celebrated on the Sunday night (see Photos of 2019 presentations). The Club committee congratulates The Bloke on his [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] win and The Sphincters on their [Rotate from list of preferred adjectives] win, and indeed all other winners on the day. The committee reminds members that the next major event in 2019 is the Swan Island nnomads Cup (SINC) in August, unless a Triggered Major sneaks into the event calendar before then.
