Nurse Min 25th June 2017 RACV Healesville |
Standardised Event Report: ‘Nurse shows members at the club’ |
|
June 25th 2017: Well what
a surprise it was to find eight players turning up for a
not-so-weekly-competition, which according to nnomadfs Golf Club rules,
automatically becomes a Triggered Major, making it the second Triggered Major
in 2017. And what a lovely setting the RACV club at Healesville proved to be
on a beautiful mid-winters day. |
|
This meant there were two groups on course creating what could only be
described as a [insert preferred headline] field. Preferred headline alternatives – 1) Impressive,
2) Top class, 3) Sensational, 4) Magnificent and 5) Awe-inspiring. First onto the
tee in Group 1 were Club Champion Pup,
The Bloke, Curtis and Freddie Five Iron closely followed by Stavros the Greek, Rubber Man, Nurse Min
and Thombei the Mist in Group 2. With such a highly skilled and
competitive field like this, it was clearly going to be a [insert preferred headline] competition
(see TM2 2017 Player Groups). |
|
Solid competition on
course: And that is exactly how it turned out with
a truly a [Rotate alternative headlines] a display of how to play competition golf. Perfect examples
of such expertise included Club Champion Pups
[Rotate alternative headlines] longest
drive on the 8th hole and his [Rotate alternative
headlines] NTPs on the 2nd, Rubber Man’s [Rotate alternative headlines] longest
drive on the 15th hole, Stavros
the Greek’s [Rotate alternative headlines] NTP on the 4th hole, The Blokes [Rotate alternative headlines] NTP on the 16th hole and Curtis’s [Rotate alternative headlines] NTPs on the 10th and 11th holes. It is
fair to say that the massive gallery got their money’s worth once again (see
On Course at TM2 2017). |
|
Nurse Min shows up the
members: So there was absolutely no
controversy about the winner on this occasion because Nurse Min (103,31,72) won is easily by four strokes from Club
Champion Pup (94,18,76) in second
place. However, there was some controversy, but not at the time, with third
place which was accidently awarded to Curtis
(94,14,80) instead of Thombei The Mist
(102,23,79). However, consistent with club convention, prizes and
placegetters remain as awarded on the day, unless someone complains so much
that we have to do something, which has never happened in part, because
players generally don’t care, and in part because the complaints committee
doesn’t meet very often (lest meeting Feb 2003). Appropriate presentations: Being
at the RACV club, it meant the presentations were a very prim and proper
affair celebrating Nurse Min’s truly [Rotate alternative
headlines] performance (see Photos of TM2 2017
presentations). “It was a game of two
nines and golf was the winner on the day” explained Nurse Min to the adoring gallery which went into rapturous
applause (see 2017 TM2 Champion Winner Speech). |

The Club
committee congratulates Nurse Min on
his [Rotate first words from list of preferred headlines] win and indeed all other
winners on the day. The committee also reminds members that the next major
event in 2017 will be Melbourne Cup Cup in November. So book early and see
you there (unless another Triggered Major makes its way onto the major event
schedule). |
