Standardised Event Report:

‘Bloke does it again, again’

December 30th 2017: So the final nnomads Golf Club major event for 2017, the Santa Decanter, returned to its roots at Kingston Links which was in ok condition on a beautiful day.

Being the final event for the year, a solid cross section from the cream of the nnomads Golf Club membership base turned out, creating only what could be described as a [insert preferred headline] field.

Preferred headline alternatives – 1) Impressive field, 2) Top class field, 3) Sensational field, 4) Magnificent field and 5) Awe-inspiring:

First onto the tee in Group 1 were Pup, The Cardinal Reigning Santa Decanter Champion The Bloke and Slugger, closely followed by Stavros the Greek, Markus Octavious, Freddie Five Iron and Rubber man in the 2nd group. With such a highly skilled field like this, it was clearly going to be a [insert preferred headline] competition (see 2017 Player Groups).

Pure quality on course: And that is exactly how it turned out with a truly a [insert preferred headline] a display of how to play competition golf. Perfect examples of such expertise included Slugger’s [Insert preferred headline] NTP on the 3rd,and 18th holes, The Bloke’s [insert preferred headline] NTP on the 7th hole, Freddie Five Iron’s [insert preferred headline] NTP on the 11th hole Stavros’s [insert preferred headline] Longest Drive on the 9th and Pup’s [insert preferred headline] Longest Drive on the 14th. It is fair to say that the adoring gallery got their money’s worth that day (see On Course in 2017).

Bloke does it again: But there was one player who stood out from the rest and that was The Bloke (86,15,71) who ended up one stroke under the card, and three strokes better than 2nd place getter Stavros the Greek (97,23,74) with Rubber Man (102,23,79) further back in 3rd place (see detailed results below).

Impressive presentations: This meant the presentations back in the carpark were a [insert preferred headline] true celebration of The Bloke’s [insert preferred headline] performance (see Photos of 2017 presentations). “Well, I am glad I won again …” started out the back to back champion as he spoke to our roving reporter who was clambering for an interview (see 2017 SD winner’s Speech). And of course The Bloke’s win was all that more impressive because it cemented him in 1st place in the 2017 club championship.

The Club committee congratulates The Bloke on his [insert preferred headline] win and indeed all other winners on the day. The committee also announces that the 2017 club champion is The Bloke. This also means that members need to prepare for the 1st major event in 2018, the Australian Masters Open Kup (AMOK) to be run at the Growling Frog on Australia day in late January at which the new champion will be formally presented with his trophy. So book early and see you there.
