The
Hanging Judge 25th April 2017 The Growling Frog |
Standardised Event Report: ‘Judge beats them in the trenches’ |
|
April 25th 2017: Lest we forget: As usual,
this year’s annual running of the ANZAC Day medal was at the fabulous
Growling Frog where the conditions were perfect and the course in tip-top
condition. |
|
And on that
morning, eight members remembered to get out of bed, representing a solid cross
section from the cream of the nnomads Golf Club
membership base, creating only what could be described as a [insert preferred headline] field. Preferred headline alternatives – 1) Impressive, 2) Top class, 3) Sensational,
4) Magnificent and 5) Awe-inspiring: First onto the
tee in Group 1 were Club Champion Pup,
Curtis, The Bloke, and The Hanging Judge, closely followed by
‘The missing in action crew’ in the
2nd group with Freddie Five Iron, Markus
Octavious, Slugger and Nurse Min in the final group. With such a highly skilled
field like this, it was clearly going to be a [insert
preferred headline] competition (see 2017 Player
Groups). |
|
Fiercely competitive on
course: And that is exactly how it turned out with
a truly a [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] a display of how to play competition golf. Perfect examples
of such expertise included The Hanging
Judge’s [Rotate from list of preferred
headlines] NTP on the 5th and his [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] Longest drive on the 15th, Curtis’s [Rotate from list of preferred
headlines] NTP on the 12th and his [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] Longest drive on the 8th, Freddie Five Iron’s [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] NTP on the 16th, and The Blokes [Rotate from list of preferred
headlines] NTP on the 2nd. The Bloke was
also said to be the arsiest play on the day after his performance on the
fourth hole. He was reported to lose his ball on his tee shot, hit a tree on
the left with his second shot but bounced back onto the fairway, and then pop
it in from 70 metres away to get a par. |
|
Judge beats them in the
trenches: At the end of the day there
were three players equal on net 75 strokes including The Hanging Judge (98,23,75), The
Bloke (91,16,75) and Markus Octavious (110,35,75) although the scores were miscalculated
and no one realised Markus Octavious had got net 75 strokes. This meant a playoff
was required in which The Hanging Judge
prevailed over The Bloke with Markus Octavious
not participating (see detailed
results below). Damp presentations: This meant the presentations back in the carpark were a [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] celebration of The
Hanging Judge’s [Rotate from list of preferred
headlines] performance at which last year’s champion
The Hanging Judge’s presented the
ADM trophy to himself (See photo above of The
Judge shaking his own hands during the presentation) |

The Club
committee congratulates The Hanging
Judge on his [Rotate from list of preferred

day. The committee also reminds members that the next major event in 2016 is
the ‘Victorian Open Masters
Invitational Tournament (VOMIT) to be run at Yarrambat on the long
weekend in June. So, book early and see
you there. |
