Standardised Event Report: ‘Freddie Proves he is Blessed’
March 25^th 2016: So Ringwood GC was in much better condition than Yarrambat Park for the annual running of the ‘Blessed are the Big Nose’ Cup held in perfect conditions as expected.
Again, a solid cross section from the cream of the nnomads Golf Club membership base turned out to compete, creating only what could be described as a [insert preferred headline] field. Preferred headline alternatives – 1) Impressive, 2) Top class, 3) Sensational, 4) Magnificent and 5) Awe-inspiring: First onto the tee in Group 1 were Pup, The Cardinal, Slugger and Markus Octavious closely followed by Stavros the Greek, Freddie Five Iron, Billy Bob Thornton and The Bloke in the 2nd group. Purity on course: And that is exactly how it turned out with a truly a [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] a display of how to play competition golf. Perfect examples of such expertise included Stavros the Greek’s [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] three NTPs on the 3^rd, 5^th and 8^th holes, The Cardinals [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] NTP on the 12^th hole, Slugger’s [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] Longest Drive on the 6^th and Stavros The Greek’s [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] Longest Drive on the 13^th. Freddie Proves he is Blessed: But there was one player who stood out from the rest and that was Freddie Five Iron (100,36, 64) who ended up six strokes under the card, and three strokes better than 2^nd place getter Markus Octavious (101,34,67) with Billy Bob Thornton (100,29,71) further back in 3^rd place (see detailed results below). Entertaining presentations: This meant the presentations back in the carpark were a [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] celebration of Freddie Five Iron’s [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] performance (see Photos of 2016 presentations). “I will extend my mantelpiece because I know I am going to win more of these …” said a confident and very much elated Freddie during his winner’s speech (see 2016 BBNC winner’s Speech). The Club committee congratulates Freddie Five Iron on his [Rotate from list of preferred headlines] win and indeed all other winners on the day. The committee also reminds members that the next major event in 2016 is the ‘ANZAC Day medal, to be run at the Growling Frog on ANZAC day. So book early and see you there.
