Standardised Event Report: ‘Cardinal SHITs in Confessional’
December 5th 2015: Once again, it was a perfect day for the not so annual running of the Shanksy Invitational Tournament held at its not so traditional Kingston Links home, in the outer east of Melbourne. And it was a special event because event sponsor Don Johnson was about to return to the US tour, meaning the event may not be run in Australia for some time (but then again you never know).
Within this context, a solid cross section from the cream of the nnomads Golf Club membership base turned out, creating only what could be described as a [insert preferred headline]. Preferred headline alternatives – 1) Impressive field, 2) Top class field, 3) Sensational field, 4) Magnificent field and 5) Awe-inspiring Field: First onto the tee in Group 1 were Freddie Five Iron, The Cardinal and The Hanging Judge, closely followed by Rubber Man, The Bloke, event sponsor Don Johnson and Slugger in Group 2 with Pup, Markus Octavious and Stavros the Greek rounding out the field in the final group. With such a highly skilled and competitive field like this, it was clearly going to be a [insert first word from preferred headline] competition (see 2015 Player Groups). Pure quality on course: And that is exactly how it turned out with a truly a [Rotate first words from list of preferred headlines] a display of how to play competition golf. Perfect examples of such expertise included Stavros the Greek’s [Rotate first words from list of preferred headlines] NTPs on the 3^rd and 7^th holes, Slugger’s [Rotate first words from list of preferred headlines] NTP on the 11^th hole, Don Johnson’s [Rotate first words from list of preferred headlines] NTP on the 18^th, The Bloke’s [Rotate first words from list of preferred headlines] Longest Drive on the 9^th hole and Stavros the Greeks [Rotate first words from list of preferred headlines] Longest Drive on the 14^th. Cardinal SHITs It In: But there was one player who stood out from the rest and that was The Cardinal (84,25,59) who ended up with a whopping 23 strokes under the card, 18 strokes better than 2^nd place getter Rubber man (88,21,67) with The Hanging Judge (94,25,69) four strokes under the card in 3^rd place (see detailed results below). The Club committee congratulates The Cardinal on his [Rotate first words from list of preferred headlines] win and indeed all other winners on the day.
