Report: ‘Mild takes out last BIT and Callaway Classic’ |
|
October 9th 2015: It
was a perfect day for last running of the Balnarring Invitational Tournament
and the Tulum Sands Callaway Classic once again held at Flinders Golf Club on
the Mornington Peninsular in Victoria. |
|
As would be
expected, a solid cross section of the cream of the nnomads
membership base turned out, creating only what could be described as a [insert preferred headline]. Preferred headline alternatives – 1) Impressive field, 2) Top class
field, 3) Sensational field, 4) Magnificent field and 5) Awe-inspiring Field: First onto
the tee in Group 1 were The Bloke,
Markus Octavious, The Tanunda Kid and The Hanging Judge, closely followed
by Jacko, Boog, Curtis and Rubber Man in Group 2. Then it was Nurse Min, Don Johnson, Critey and Freddie
Five Iron with King Billy, Stavros
the Greek, Slugger and Mild Colonial
Boy rounding out the field in the final group. With such a highly skilled
and competitive field like this, it was clearly going to be a [insert first word from
preferred headline] competition (see 2015
Player Groups). |
|
Pure quality on
course: And that is exactly how it turned out
with a truly a [Rotate first words from list of preferred headlines] a display of how to play competition golf. Perfect examples
of such expertise included Curtis’s
[Rotate first words from
list of preferred headlines] NTP
on the 3rd hole, Nurse Mins’s [Rotate first words from list of preferred
headlines] NTP on the 9th,
Stavros the Greeks’s
[Rotate first words from list of preferred
headlines] NTP on the 12th,
King Billy’s [Rotate first words from list of preferred headlines] NTP on the 17th, The
Tanunda Kids [Rotate first words from list of preferred headlines] Longest Drive on the 7th and Mild Colonial Boys [Rotate first words from list of preferred
headlines] Longest Drive 15th. It is
fair to say that the adoring gallery got their money’s worth that day (see on
course at the BIT and TSCC 2015). |
|
Mild takes is all: But there was one player who stood out from the rest and that
was Mild Colonial Boy who took out both
the BIT (85,18,67) and the TSCC
(85,14, 71) leaving the rest of the field in his wake. Place getters in the BIT
included Stavros the Greek (94,25,69), Nurse Min
(100,31, 69), Don Johnson (95,26,69)
and King Billy (94,25,69) who all
came equal second illustrating how close the competition was. Place getters
in the TSCC included Stavros the Greek (94,24.5,73.5) who came
in 2nd with Curtis (93,18,75) and Nurse Min (100,25,75) coming equal
third (see results below). Huge presentations: This meant
the presentations back at Palmers Hill were a [Rotate first words from list of preferred
headlines] celebration of Mild Colonial Boy’s [Rotate first words from list of preferred
headlines] performance (see photos of 2015
presentations). ‘No comment’
emphasised Mild as the media tried unsuccessfully to get the double champion
to say something. And that was consistent with the protocols of the day, that
is, what happens at the BIT stays at the BIT, except the odd off the course

The Club
committee congratulates Mild Colonial
Boy on both his wins and indeed all winners on the day. The committee
also reminds members to book early for the next major nnomads
Golf Club event – The ‘Melbourne Cup Cup’ in November.
See you there. |
