     Complaint to disciplinary committee

An apology to
‘The Bloke’

November 2012

The evidence…

Café-de-Steph with coffee plainly in sight

Freddie and the Nurse
Coffee and croissants plainly in hand

THE COMPLAINT

Dear Agnes,

I was absolutely appalled to read the miss-reporting in the recent Melbourne Cup Cup article posted on the nnomads Golf Club web site. In fact it was downright wrong!

The introduction suggested that Café-de Steph was not functioning, that no coffee was available, and that no croissants were available. Further, it suggested that this was caused by me getting out of bed late and not being organised. This is an absolute lie!

While I admit there was no hot water for tea, everything else was functioning as normal. There was coffee available! There were croissants available including two varieties of conserves! And players availed themselves of these facilities and delicacies as they do every year. As for the lack of hot water for tea, this was over played because Stavros was the only player wanting tea, so who really cares eh? And…. The photographic evidence is there to support my case (see attached photos).

This is to inform you that unless I receive an apology and correction I will never cater for the Melbourne Cup Cup ever again. Never, never, never!!!!!

Regards

The Bloke

Proprietor – Café-de-Steph

THE APOLOGY

Dear Bloke,

The nnomads Golf Club disciplinary committee has reviewed your recent complaint. Normally, we wouldn’t entertain any sort of apology but on this occasion there does appear to be overwhelming evidence to support your case. Thus, it is with great sadness we humbly apologise for the apparent but extremely rare inaccuracy in our reporting. We have spoken to our PR department who have agreed to avoid making such inaccurate claims in the future when there is evidence to the contrary. We also emphasise that this apology is not related in any way to the fact that Stavros may miss out on a cup of tea at next year’s event! We sincerely hope this apology overcomes any thought of not catering for the MCC next year. The MCC without ‘Cafe-de-Steph' is not a thought we would want to entertain under any circumstances.

Kind regards

Agnes
