Quarterly Update 1:
Jan - March 2006
1st Quarter Bladder Statistics: As
every man and his dog know, the role of ‘the
bladder’ is to maintain the Club’s statistics for each year. It is not
a ladder and there is no prize for the most points. It is the way we record our game, player and
ball wining activity.
And
the ‘bladder’ tells us that at gained
NTP on 4 occasions. That is a dedicated
performance in anyone’s language. Well done Brendan. Now Steph had only played
6 games, but he won 4 of them and gained NTP on 2 occasions. So that is also an
impressive performance. Well done Steph.
That’s not to mention Steve who only played 7 games, won 3 of them and gained 1
NTP. Again an
impressive performance.
In
addition, the first quarter yielded other performances of note including Min
who won two of the three games he played
– not bad eh … and
The
committee is delighted at the solid start to 2006. The Bladder is showing solid
and positive member activity over the first quarter. Clearly 2006 is shaping up
to be the best year ever as the handicap developments illustrate (see below).

1st Quarter Handicap Update: As
the above table shows, as of the 30th of March 11 players were
listed on ‘The Bladder’ for 2006. Of those, five players have reduced their
handicaps during the first quarter.
Min
& Brendan - The Stand Out Performers: For those that
haven’t been following this story, Min slashed 2 strokes off his handicap in
the last two months of 2005 and then slashed another 2.3 strokes by end of
March 2006 (34 down to 32 and then down to 30 strokes). This was the stand out
performance for the quarter. “Look …. a few balls at the practice range, better use of the ‘Killer
Whale’ and playing for a few weeks in a row. It not rocket science”
explained Min when interviewed by the media. The committee congratulates Min on
his excellent performance over the last 5 months.
Brendan
slashed his handicap by two strokes (13.6 to 11.8) during the first quarter of
2006. That should also be recognised as a great performance. “Look
its more about hovering around than coming in.” he explained when given the
opportunity. The committee congratulates Brendan on this positive performance
in the first quarter.
Four
More Come in a Stroke:
Harry, Steve,
“Look
it’s a very good performance over all. It is great to see such dramatic
improvement in just one quarter. I hope they keep it up for the rest of the
year” commented club handicapper Gordon as he released the end of quarter
results.
