nnomads Golf Club

Resolutions passed at the nnomads AGM

On the 30th of April 2005 the nnomads Golf Club AGM was held at ‘Min’s Mansion on Seaview’ in Balnarring. As usual no advance notice was given to members prior to the meeting. “If you want to be at these things and pass your opinion you just have to attend the major competitions.” reinforced Min as the meeting was opened.

A clear quorum of members was present including Geoff, Min, Tom, Steve, Steph, Brendan, Fritz, Riko and Gordon. (Paris Hilton was absent this year).

All resolutions needed to be proposed and seconded prior to a vote. All resolutions were passed unanimously after sometimes delicate and vociferous negotiations.

Resolutions passed were:

*    To increase the entry fee per game from $1 to $2; this will allow better quality balls to be bought as prizes.

*    Members hosting events will be granted an extra bonus point.

*    The quorum of members required in any vote to change any of the rules of the nnomads golf club is seven, in addition all resolutions must be passed by an absolute majority.

*    The “non local bonus” is to be reduced to half a point per game, with a maximum of 15 points to be awarded per player per year.

*    Any Ball Prizes awarded at nnomad events earn ladder points.

*    The number of balls available at events is dictated by the number of players. The host of the event will decide the format of the competition and the available prizes.

*    To buy a new perpetual trophy for male and female winners to be kept at Drummond Base, with the winners also to be given a smaller trophy to keep.

*    Merchandising: Members were positive to the idea of being able to buy shirts and caps bearing the nnomads logo, providing the club would subsidise the cost to some extent. This initiative is to be further investigated in the short term.

The meeting was closed when attendees became so drunk they couldn’t talk sensibly any more. Although there was some debate as to whether there was sensible conversation at any point in the meeting, all understood the words “the choccy cake's ready!”
