Cardinal Breaks Away from The Field

May 2004: As we approach the half way mark of the 2004 nnomads Golf Club competition year, The Cardinal is still well out in front on the Ladder with a lead of 11 points over the next group of contenders. We really need some competition for this bastard. said Thombei as he took a photo of The Cardinal hitting a magnificent shot on the 4th at Yarra Bend a couple of weeks ago.

The Cardinal for his part is very cool about it all. Its early days Stavros. The Bombers have won 6 in a row and so have I. But what else would you expect at this stage of the season. he said as he carefully watched the scores being added after the first 9 holes.

Some Concerns at Committee Level

The Cardinal’s lead was a point of discussion at the last club committee meeting. We can’t let him win two years in a row. No one has ever achieved that in history of the club. said GMAC as the committee contemplated what could be done. We have just got to encourage all members to play in the club competitions and submit their cards regularly, particularly when The Cardinal isn’t playing. said Stavros in desperation. We have got to give credit where credit is due said The Captain. Somehow, he has got the points on the board and as far as I know he hasn’t been wheeling and dealing like last year. Maybe I could take him deep sea fishing. It can be rough out there and people do fall off boats from time to time. The committee congratulates The Cardinal on his early lead on the 2004 ladder, and puts out the challenge to all members to raise the level of competition for him during the remainder of the year.
