Prime contender – Woman’s player of the year

February 2004: The media has been in frenzy since Robyn 1 burst onto the 2004 nnomad circuit with an almost clean sweep at the DrummondBase Ablaru Invitational golf tournament. After taking a break in her golfing career (she didn’t submit a card in 2003), Robyn 1 has made a dramatic come back, winning the Tequila Challenge 2004 (with Clean Phil), and the Women’s Ablaru Invitational Golf Tournament 2004 on the same weekend. It is all about altitude. She said when interviewed recently. I have learned not to think about it. Golf just doesn’t come to mind unless someone else suggests it.

Topped Off with Longest Drive & Record: To illustrate her absolute dominance over the weekend, Robyn 1 also won the longest drive in the Ablaru Invitational and set the woman’s course record of 51, for the new layout at DrummondBase. The only trophy she didn’t collect was the NTP (Turbo won that). She was hard to beat that weekend. I’m sure it was the tequila and champagne said Turbo, who was last year’s highest woman on the ladder.

Leaps ahead on league ladder: Robyn’s performance year to date should gain her some valuable points in the 2004 league ladder.. She will get a ball for winning the Challenge, a ball for winning the Ablaru, a ball for the longest drive, an event bonus and half a point for submitting her card. Thats 9.5 points in the first month of the year. said GMAC when asked to comment on her performance year to date. The general talk around the sporting media was that Robyn 1 was now a clear contender for the clubs 2004 Women’s Player of the Year. If she repeats the performance at the Uralba Open she’ll be hard to beat. said The Cardinal at a recent committee meeting.

Sets Scene For Women’s 2004 Competition: The scene is now set for a fierce women’s competition in 2004. Robyn’s performance at the Ablaru Invitational has raised the beam for her fellow competitors. No female player in the club’s history has ever produced such a brilliant series of performances at a single event (or male player for that matter). The club committee would like to congratulate Robyn 1 on her performance. So long as she puts in a card to two during the year, she’ll be a contender anyway. said Nurse Min when asked to comment. Mind you, Robyn 1 and Thombei are just as likely not to play for a couple of years now.
